I am trying to flash software version RM975_02040.00021.15053.36001_RETAIL_prod_signed_1 024_01D58B_000-CA_MV.ffu

however the phone has RM975_02173.00000.15154.50010_RETAIL_prod_signed_1 035_021471_ATT-US.ffu already installed on it. here is log:

That is because you trying flash ATT phone with NON-ATT firmware.

Hm, normally it must accept that FW. There is no DG prevention check.
Check phone state - make 3-5 photos. Reboot phone. Does they left after reboot?

i am not sure i fully understand what you are asking but the phone works fine after the error message the phone reboots and goes back to normal mode. you are asking for 3-5 photos ?? what exactly do you want photos of?

I have asked to make 3-5 photos on that phone via it camera. Nothing more. Then reboot it and check - are they present, or not in gallery after reboot.
That is simpliest eMMC ReadOnly test. I saw few cases, when lumia phone power on well with eMMC readonly,without fall in boot partition problems. But not sure about your one have such problem.

Seems as need just find correct one FFU file.
