Huaweii E173Eu-1 problem ?? - GSM-Forum

Hello
I have a lot of that modems with simlock

1. I have backup full flash from (locked) modem no1 - lets name "locked 173eu1.bin"

2. then i unlock modem no1 with other tools

3. i have backup full flash from unlocked modem no1 - lets name "unlocked 173eu1.bin"

Now i have 2 backup: ""locked 173eu1.bin"" , "unlocked 173eu1.bin" from the same modem.

I'd like to ask why when i write locked backup from modem no1 to another modem its no problem - modem alive, but when i write unlocked backup from the same modem no1 to another - modem is dead?

Hello.
Have You read out Full flash from your unlocked modem with ECC (with selected "ECC Mode")? Note, You need to read Full flash with ECC.

When I put it to usb port - nothing is happen - it's totally dead

Yes, sorry, I thought you have Huawei E173 modem (not E173u-1). Such situation (phone is in not working state) arise because the security of E173u-1 has binding to HW (simple E173 model has the sucurity that not binding to HW).
The best way to unlock your E173u-1 is to write back origilal (locked) Full flash from this modem, to make it working again, then re-flash it using Octopus Suite software 1.0.6 with the firmware "E173-11.126.16.04.174_unlocked" from the support area and unlock it for 0 credits.
