| T589 development help Hello, We are developing a ROM for samsung T589, the developer asked to read debug data using medusa, but I dont know how to do this. He has a ROM which loads the kernel but cant boot the Phone, just hangs at LOGO. he asked me to flash this ROM and then read the phone with MEDUSA so that it can detect where the error is, this possible? here is a quote from a message that he sent to me "Sorry, I've never used a JTAG before so I can't be of much help. But the basic idea is to use the JTAG to capture the debug output while the phone is booting, and the debug output will have error messages that will give me a clue as to what the problem is. But I can't tell you how to set that up becoz I don't know." |

| Hello. Quote:
1. Solder all Jtag wires accordingly to the pinout picture in software manual ("Help" button). 2. Connect the phone in Advanced Mode. 3. Select (check) "Full flash" option. 4. Press "Read" button and select "*.bin" format for Full flash file. 5. Send to your developer Full flash file when it will be read out. | |

| Hi, I'm the developer in question so I hope I can clarify what we're trying to do. I've put together a ROM compiled from source (I'm trying to port CM 7.2 to the phone's stock kernel). The ROM is available as an ODIN *.tar.md5 file. When it's flashed, the phone goes to a solid black screen with "A N D R O I D" in the middle. The phone appears in 'adb devices' but isn't booted enough for me to get dmesg output (just get an error about missing /bin/sh). So, what I'm looking for is a means to get the kernel's boot messages (/proc/kmesg) via the JTAG interface, if that's possible. Will the instructions you posted allow for this? |
