Emmc cloning question

Dear supporters!

I like to ask a question.

Is it possible to replace a faulty EMMC (hynix 8gb write protect) with a (used samsung 8GB working) ? I mean can I remove working emmc from other phone and write (ROM1,2,3 and EXTCSD) from the WP EMMC?? Will this work?

Many thanks for help!

Thanks for suggestion.

One more complex question. It's enough to make erase used emmc, than make rom1,2,3,rpmb same size than original emmc, than write Rom1,2,3? Or need to change emmc card CID to same as original was?

It's complected..somtimes you need ,somtimes no need
some cpu need rom2 or 3 ,some cpu need only rom1

if you can read old emmc data .... you can used it to write new emmc example old emmc klm8g ( 8gb emmc ) you can write to new klm8g klmag klmbg 8/16/32 gb or if you have kmvtu kmv3w kmv2w (emcp 16/32 or higher ) you can write it also . and your phone will alive like old phone no data erase or missing

and the backup can also repair another phone with same type ... but usually there a problem security so after another phone alive it need to repair imei

it is not complex at all ... yes you can use used emmc you you can erase and write the extcsd/rom2-3/rom1 .... except MTK cpu the preloader contain emmc support data ,,, so you must patch / rename cid to emmc that support to the preloader

i guess you missing the basic emmc

1. ext_csd contain confiq and boot size etc
2. rom2 rom 3 contain boot file
3. rom1 user area data

some times it contain rpmb and gp1

first to write is extcsd to make config and partition
second is boot1/2
third rpmb/gp1
last and must at last is userarea

you must write step by step

problem is you must read those data from normal phone to make repair file

this example emmc contain gp1

i use ufi box but the proses is similar cause i use easyjtag before (direct emmc)

Many thanks for information for ALL!

But i have one question about MTK CID patching. Why need it to patch cid, when CM2MTK can bypass HW identification at firmware writing? Is there any other connection between CID and preloader in FW?

many thanx

preloader contain emmc cid - emmc confiq - data partition , writing wrong preloader will cause phone death.... , cid only identity of emmc .
writing with bypass security or hw identity will caused death phone . you can use bin file of cm 2/miracle chinese box ... but you must sure its from same type of phone
