Hi,
Yes, some eMMC can not be repaired with firmware update.
Its many reasons for that: internal nand damage, corrupted
nand block wear level mapping etc.
Best Regards

No firmware bugs!
Firmware update can fix corrupted firmware,
but can't fix some internal problems.

I have seen a number of posts describing the 'short TP to GND' solution. All of them work with either the EMMC still in the phone, or a loose EMMC.
I have the same problem with my EMMC, but it's connected to the Easy Jtag EMMC adapter (soldered to it).

Can anyone tell me where to find the TP connection on the EMMC adapter, or which points to short to get a working EMMC? I read somewhere about shorting VDD (DATA0?) and GND, but I'm unsure if that's the same, and I don't want to damage the EMMC.
