When phone is dead by wrong flash just write boot from latest firmware no worries for efs or any important data
Other cases depends on model

this is basic question ofcourse you hv to back up those partition .... efs imei etc automatically back up if you read backup userarea 256mb or bigger , or you can backup via user partition efs imei TA (sony) modem etc .

but..... we use different box

this for example even qdload 9008 can backup data that you ask
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0ZSQ9gsx54&t=1s

thats why this box no need regular update what you need to repair emmc is back up from old emmc aslong as they can readable ... if old emmc death you need to read from other phone but if you read from other phone then you need fixed efs or security file

for samsung you need backup ext csd boot1 boot2 and user area 256 or bigger then write it to new emmc or repaired old emmc ,,, then you dont need to repair imei signal etc ... but remember userdata will not save cause after phone flashed it still need factory wipe

for general backup you need modemst1 modemst2 modem fsg persist to back ... but don t forget some will need special file example sony will need to back up TA partition

N7100 and i9300 and few more old models i have 100% success rate only if emmc is readable and data not corrupted
Original imei restored with full network

i think you misunderstanding no need full dump only 256 mb then all security imei will show no need repairing signal ... tested i8190/i9190/9500/ g530h/g531 n7100 etc .... BUT it must original back up so first you must to do direct emmc ( which it is just add the risk if you broken the clk/cmd/dat resistor )

but again not all samsung so you need also backup partition efs modemst1 modemst2 fsg and persistance ( name may different depend phone type ) after write dump write those partition also .... the put emmc to pcb then falsh it.... done...
