I have done on several computers all ok procedure when upgrading by sd or perform deletion or start again the protection in the EMMC and I can check by putting it in pink screen

If your phone having write protection, you cant update firmware . You should remove write protection as he did & he remove emmc for pinout purpose which u don't have to remove emmc as he uploaded the pin out.Make a jumpers remove write protection n update firmware thats all

If face any prblm while updating just try different firmwares as I tried n got seccuss in fifth firmware

Usually When you have WP eMMC You Must Replace eMMC Because Personally I think any eMMC after remove WP or Update FW have a short Life except VTU00M

Anyway
after remove write protect you don't need anything just reset from setting
also sometimes after reset,WP back again so need update FW then write dump and reflash phone
