J70, stupid IMEI & Sim Lock... - GSM-Forum

A friend brought me today his J70 for a check. He used it till few days ago and all worked OK until once the battery went dead. He filled the battery in one other phone and put it back to his phone but the phone - J70 - does not accept his SIM card any more, just saying SIM LOCK. After IMEI check, on screen it says Phone ID IMEI: 0000000000000000. The phone turns on normaly, you can dial 112, all seems to be fine except it does not accept the SIM card.

Anyone has any kind of idea what went wrong? Service manual does not help much at all

Hi!
Are you try take a content of good Eeprom J70, with programator, (Ponyprom) and put it in this which has 15th zeros(00000..)
I think after that you must full flash your phone that make a correction with checksum.
Your IMEI will be different, but how care, important is that working.

This problem is in Almost all new versions i have seen like j6,j7,j70 imei 000000000000000 . phone are simlocked

In sony Z5 imei display like a garbage like 44efa9d28aacbde and they also are simlocked

I can repair some of that which have Fijustu Flash but i cant on other

I think Eeprom part is erased Like nokias direct contect service

one j6 i have was ok untill i put in charger after pushon phone displayed simlocked STRANGE
imei turned to 000000000000000

serching for solution from last two months

This utility can upload full backup from phone. May be it help You. I have one idea - upload full flash from working phone and download it to bad phone.

where is the physical eeprom i cant find any eeprom in sony j 70 with imei 000000000000000

hi chuk i downloaded that tool but it is for reading image from phone and save as *.bin whatprogram i should use to upload full flash as *.bin
