| Z5 Security code removal procedure. Z5 (Firmware rev: 6.3.2) 1. Purchase a Z5 data cable on EBAY for £1.00 (The cable translates RS232 signal levels, -12v and +12v, into 0V and 5V - the voltages compatible with the Z5.) This translation is performed in the DB9 plug, which is moulded, so it is impossible to ascertain the circuit. 2. Go to this link and download the Z5 service manual http://hyperion.sp.unipg.it/bodhi3/d...ice%20Manuals/[/B] The manual has the pinouts for the Z5 interface connector. The pins are numbered : Keyboard up. 1357...........17 2468...........18 This is the correct numbering for the pins, so please ignore all the previous posters on this bulletin board who are wrong! 3. Dismantle the plug shell of the Z5 connector. Disconnect the 20k resistor. Disconnect all black cables (Black is Ground). Reconnect the black cable to pin 18. The cable should now have the following configuration:- Pin 9 (TX) Blue Pin 10 (RX) White Pin 18 (GND) Black These are the only connections, a separate 5V power source is unnecessary. 4. Remove the SIM. Connect Z5 to a Windows 98 PC. Run GL3. Ensure PORT and Speed configurations in Windows 98 and GL3 match. Select the "CLEAR LOCK" button. The "Version Info" panel in the upper RH corner displays "FUJITSU". WHY????? Data transfers in the GL3 log screen. 5. Security code now 0000. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the posters for their kind responses to my previous post. |
