Connecting to phone on COM49
Mode: Emergency

---------------------------------------------

I followed from step 1~14, but I have 1 problem.

*#9090# gets me nowhere, I get nothing from it.

(which I think this is the main problem here)

I tried androd firmware 4.04, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.3

All of them give same results (nothing happens)

Yes I tried changing ports, read info on same port multiple times etc

I even rooted the phone, but nothing happens

However when I do 'read info' on Anroid, EFS Manger tab

It does read this

Platform: Samsung Android
Selected port: COM49
Selected model: SGH-I747M
Reading info, please wait...
Detected phone model: SGH-I747M
Firmware compiled date: Tue Nov 20 22:35:43 KST 2012
PDA version: I747MVLDLK4
CSC version: I747MOYBDLK4
SW version: I747MVLDLK4
Phone IMEI: 353323055819501
Phone SN: R21DB3XX6ZB
Android version: 4.1.1 (JRO03L)

* I tried read security, read EFS (they both work)

But when I change the tab to Main or Repair IMEI/SN

It goes back to

Platform: Samsung Android
Selected port: COM49
Selected model: SGH-I747M
Phone was not found on the selected port!
Searching for USB diagnostic port...
Connecting to phone on COM49
Mode: Emergency

Of course none of the operations work either.

I've working on this for many days, and it's driving me crazy!!

Could there be a defect with the box itself?

I tried with UART cable (the UART cable I got with the box) but it reads nothing. this is the log

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Platform: Samsung Android
Selected port: COM34
Selected model: SGH-I747M
Reading info, please wait...
Proper android device not found. Make shure that "USB debug" option on the device is turned on.

Phone was not found on the selected port!
Searching for USB diagnostic port...
No diagnostic ports found!
Connecting to phone on COM34
Phone connection failed

----------------------------------------------------------------------

In fact any operation related to UART cable never worked with me.

and I need answers for these questions

*#9090# don't work at all in any firmwares I tried (4.0.4, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.3)

How do I set config diag to USB without *#9090#? (it seems they disabled it)

I'm able to read info on Android/ EFS manager tab,

but Main and Repair IMEI/SN tab don't work at all.

Ay idea?

There can be two reasons of this problem:
1. Box has HW problem (problem with UART connector or other HW problems).
2. Problem with Samsung Micro UART cable (try to use another cable to be sure, that the cable is OK).

Yes, in "Android/ EFS manager" tab, Software reads info over ADB, but in "Main" tab - via diagnostic port.

Please try to use another Samsung Micro UART C3300k/C3303k cable and connect the device again.

Please try to use another Samsung Micro UART C3300k/C3303k cable and connect the device again.

First of all, it's not the problem with my PC since I tried it on 2 different PC (one with newly installed windows 7) and I get the same result.

This could be the cable, so I just ordered Samsung Micro UART C3300K/C3303K.

Once I get new cable, I'll update you with the process.

Thanks.
