How to unlock latest S8+ SM-G955U from Sprint? [Solved] - GSM-Forum

Got one S8 plus from USA network Sprint. It has the latest firmware and binary

Firmware is G955USQU5CRG3 / G955UOYN5CRG3

Tried everything last 3-4 days, various combination files, searched in ths section everything related tu G955U etc...

Using latest Octoplus 2.7.1

Unlock S8+ G955U from Sprint is not supported at the moment.

I have done so. I have flashed the latest combination file for G955U. Selected G935P and yes, it starts unlocking, checks if the phone is rooted, but it's not, then installs something that can't be installed and finally says the phone is unlocked, restarts the phone but it's not unlocked...

Your method works for all firmware till version 4. Mine security is version 5...

This Sprint USA Samsung G955U does not asks for NCK when different SIM is inserted

Can this phone be unlocked via server and credits?

Yes, Sprint device shouldn't ask NCK code. Just insert non-Sprint SIM card and slide down the upper shutter - "Invalid SIM" should be written it there.

Then perform necessary steps for unlocking - write proper Combination modem and perform the "Unlock" operation.

I flashed the phone with Combination file

And tried to unlock it. This is what I got

This is not correct, You should't write full Combination firmware! You need to write only modem part from Combination firmware.

Please now perform the following steps:

1. Write full regular (normal, not Combination) firmware.
2. Write Combination Modem firmware (only modem). Try to write "COMBINATION_modem_FA70_G955USQU5ARH8.tar" from the Support Area.
3. Insert non-Sprint SIM card ("Invalid SIM" should be on phone's screen), this is important!
4. Perform the "Unlock" operation.
5. Post here full Software log with all of performed operations and write the result.

Thank you. I solved the problem

But in the software, when you select G955U and pres HELP, you get this

5. Sprint Unlock
Insert non-Sprint SIM card ("Invalid SIM" should be on phone's screen), this is important!
Download and write proper binary Combination modem firmware from the Support Area ("SAMSUNG/COMBINATION" folder).
Write modem from proper combination firmware
Connect powered-on phone to PC via cable.
Install necessary driver.
Click "Unlock" button.
Follow software instructions (prompts).

It says to write combination firmware. A little bit confusing but I solved the problem. Thx again
