To connect GT-I9003 phone you have to perform the following steps:
1. Disconnect USB cable from phone.
2. Go to Menu->Settings->Applications->Development.
3. Turn on "USB Debugging" option.
4. When message is appear press "Yes".
5. Go to dial window.
6. Enter "*#7284#" number.
7. Set "USB" radio button to "PDA" value.
8. Close window.
9. Press "Read Info" in software.

Then you repair imei
You need to to repair efs 1st because it is null when it be 0049xxxxxxx then press repair imei

1. Reconnect phone battery.
2. Press and hold "Volume - " + "Power" buttons.

If after of Repair EFS, phone's IMEI is still Null - most likely, this is HW problem (problem with phone's flash chip).
