Changing a MetroPCS (locked) Samsung Avant to a TMobile Avant works also, using a similar ROM flashing procedure, putting TMo ROM on it. I will attempt to post it here... being new here, if I'm allowed to.

My girlfriend and her son were with MetroPCS and each had one of these Samsung Galaxy Avant phones.

We switched to TMobile to be able to use some Galaxy Note 3 and Note 4 phones I have. However, the MetroPCS version of the Avant is locked to MetroPCS. In theory, they could ask MetroPCS for an unlock code. Or they could pay an unlocker service $30-40, which seems to be the rate for the Avant. Since people say that flashing a TMobile Avant with a MetroPCS ROM would unlock the phone, I wondered if flashing a MetroPCS Avant phone with a TMobile ROM would work to unlock it.

OK, I'm not allowed to post anything with links yet, too low a post count. Message me for the procedure... or maybe I can post it in my intro post.

As always, your mileage may vary, and if you try this, make sure it's a phone you can afford to brick without life-altering consequences.

Please, follow Software news and updates, You aren't using actual Software version, the latest Software version download and install it, after repeat Unlock operation again.
