SM-N900T "not registered on network" [Solved]

I have a SM-N900T that refuses to register to the network. every number I dial ,I get the notification "not registered on network".

I unlocked the phone successfully.

I restarted octoplus Because once you use the UART successfully it won't work again for any operation unless the program is restarted.

read info .. successful .. select service IMEI .. everything was successful. rebooted the phone waited 5-10 mins .. tried to make a call and got notification "not registered on network". I checked the APN setting and it was correct. I tried manually registering to the network and that failed.

I did this 6 times with different service IMEI's and I still couldn't make a call.

I finally restored the phones original imei with "write security" and i'm able to make phone calls..

How can i fix this?

I should also note that i rooted with CF-Auto-Root smn9005

Does my baseband make a difference .. does flashing .oct files erase my phone data?

OK, I spoke to someone who said they were able to change imei successfully and I thought I was doing something wrong. looking at another post titled "sm-n900t imei repair stuck on searching service".. it may be an issue with my baseband and not having used octoplus firmware.. Now i need to find a suitable solution to backing up and restore data.

I'm not sure what is causing it, but this issue seems to have started about a week ago. I have 3 phones in this condition now.

change firmware baseband from NF4 to NB4, used the same service IMEI as before and it worked perfectly! .. BEWARE: NF4 baseband will lead to complete failure and wasted time.
