UART port for G850xx Phone repair

Hi Octopus,

I would like to inform you that you have great solutions and amazing support for your users. I have not seen such a committed team who responds to their customers issues.

Anyways, I had a request / proposal / feedback as we have models from At&t which are not rootable. I was hoping if your team can provide uart compatible cert writing which would not require root. As we can easily reset efs via code.

This would really help the community.

Thanks,

Just to confirm the N910A / G850 variant are working via Octopus using the UART potrt... I still have to try N915T using the N910T model... unless OCtopus can send me the BETA test software

Thanks,

Im already try.but it doesnt work when select n910a to write CERT for G850A over UART cable,Because Octopus have an option checked CERT before write to phone,so the result will be failed to write CERT
Certificate is not compatible
Writing CERT failed
Or do you have any clue can write CERT g850a over UART cable?
Thanks
Note: im using G850F CERT write to G850A

It should work fine . I have been doing n915a that way by selecting n910a and checking manual . So g850a should be the same . I also used g900t to fix g870a

Is there root for the g850a ? If so try selecting g900t

Otherwise you can always write a cert via at commands

Thanks for your help
I did wipe EFS by code
i did try g900f to g870a but checked CERT fail

Are you sure the CERT file you're using is a proper CERT file? The manual select should allow you to write any CERT you want as long as the PHONE (not software) recognizes it. Obviously if the phone doesn't recognize it, the CERT writing process is going to send back an error triggering the program to either end or send an error (cannot write CERT).

Clearly G850F is not compatible with G850 A / W ... if you use the correct cert file it would work flawlessly.... have done more than 10 devices
