hi all i live in lebanon and i have a prepaid simcard,but this type of prepaid simcard is old and i recharge it by a different way like this days prepaid simcard:
now thats whats happen with me:

1-the type of my simcard shows the number of credits on phone screen so each time i talk the number of credits decrease much as i talk

2-when i reach to a 0 credit i cant make outgoing calls i simply go to provider office i pay them and then they put he card in a spechial computer interface(like smart mouse or multiprogrammer) and in one minute they give the card and when i put it on phone i get 180 credit

---I READ MY SIMCARD DATA(KI&IMSI) AND CLONED IT USING GOLD CARD ,I CAN GET REGISTERATION TO THE NETWORK AND RECEIVE CALLS BUT NOT MAKING OUTGOING CALLS SINCE THE NUMBER O (CREDIT) APPEAR ON THE SCREEN(MAX COST LIMIT REACHED MESSEGE APPEAR)
NOW,
USING CARDINAL SOFTWARE I TRIED TO CHANGE ACM(ACCUMALTED CALL METER)AND I SUCSSEDD SO THE 180 NUMBER APPEAR ON MY PHONE WITH MY CLONED SIM BUT I CAN MAKE OUTGOING CALLS ONLY FOR 10 SECOND!!!

I HAVE A FREIND WORK IN THE PROVIDER COMPANY AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE NUMBER OF CREDITS OF THIS CARDS ARE STORED IN SIMCARD(ACM) AND IT IS PROTECTED BY A PIN2 CODE TO NOT BE ADJUSTED BY ANY ONE ,BUT WITH MY CLONED SIM I CRAET MY OWN PIN2 CODE AND ADJUST ACM AS I LIKE BUT I CAN GET ONLY 10SEC FREE TALK WITH NO CREDIT DECREASED FROM THE ORGINAL SIM

NOW THE NEW CHARGING SYSTEM IS CAHNGED BY THE PROVIDER SO KNOW I PAY THEM MONEY AND THEY SSEND TO MY PHONE A BLANK SMS AND WHEN I TURN MY PHONE OFF THEN ON I GET THE NEW CREDIT,SOME PEOPLE TILL ME THAT THEY SEND A BLANK ASCII CODE WHICH WILL CAHNGE ACM TO THE VALUE THE PROVIDER WANT

THE THING WHICH MAKE ME SURE THAT THE NUMER OF CREDIT IS STORED IN SIMCARD IS THAT BEFOR 3 OR 4 YEAR AND USING ERICCSSON 688 PHONE I SUCCEDD TO MAKE UNLIMITED FREE OUTGOING CALLS!!! THE PROCESS WAS IS TO CALL A NUMER AND BEFOR IT HANGS ON I WAS PRESS 3DIGIT KEY PAD I DONT REMMBER NOW AND THE PHONE WILL GO OFF AND IM STILL TALK NORMALLY TO THE DIALLED NUMBER FOR UNLIMITED TIME AND THE PHONE IS OFF!!! AND IF I WANT TO END THE CALL I REMOVE THE BATTERY ,THE COMPANY UPGRADED MOST OF ERICSSON PHONE ON MARKET TO STOP THIS PROCESS ,
NOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE OR MODIFT THE FIRMWARE OF A NOKIA PHONE SO I CAN STOP THE SOFTWARE PART OF THE PHONE IS INVOLVING ACM DECREASING MAYBE PHONE INTERNAL COUNTER

phreaking is illegal because you stole others and they pay money for your call , do you think you can call china freely and no body will pay for this or what???

It is disgraceful letting others pay the bills they did not used or call. But free without interfering other peoples bill maybe considerable.

this is an interesting post. well, not the post as much as the replies.

almost all of the "good guys" here have cloned their cards, which happenes to be as "illegal" as much as NOT paying for their calls, so, spare the poor guy your honesty and if you have something usefull to say, say it, otherwise, try starting a new post called "Sim-Clonning is Illegal" ... oh, and please try the general forum.

wissamkoko : if you have access to an old motorola phone, the one with the full size simcard, and a simcard emulator, which is a serial cable attached to a waffle, then you can try an old program called asim, it is an emulator, you can specify your ki & imsi & credit, and also make phonecalls, the moto phone gets it's data from the computer, so basically it is alot easier to try different things..
