Member: 16314 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 8 | Operators name on SIM card. I am new to this SIM card cloning stuff and want to learn, so please excuse me. I have a couple of questions. Is there any program that can read the PIN from a SIM card? Also, and more importantly, when you insert a SIM card into a phone, the operaters name appers on the screen. Can this be changed to have text that I desire? I am under the impression that the operators name is embedded in the SIM card itself hence showing on the display. Cold someone please clear a few things for me. Thanks Last edited by bongowireless; 01-26-2003 at 04:02. |

For instance the italian operator TIM actually broadcasts 222-01. 222 is Italy and 01 is the operator. So, to reply your question: yes it's possible to change the name you see on display but you need to edit the phone flash or just the right address. With the old Motorola 8700 or 8900 it was very easy. With the new phones is a little more complicated. |

Member: 10582 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 99 | @bongowireless As Samspade says, normaly the operator name is in a tables of the phone, but if you use SIM-EMU you can use your own literal because the SIM-EMU has activated de SPN service that allows to SIM to control the name of the operator that pnone displays. With respect to read PIN, there is no program to read this data from the SIM. Regards |

Perhaps you were mislead by the "PIN/PUK management" feature... The management you can do is the same that the phone can do: - Change PIN (supplying the old one and providing it's not blocked) - Unblock PIN (supplying the corresponding PUK and providing the PUK is not blocked) - Disabling/Enabling the PIN (supplying the PIN/PUK) |

Member: 15073 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 12 | PINs. Hi all, I think the same that Alf, SIM Doctor is a simple reader (no compatible with phoenix or PC/SC). If you buy this product, you can´t use this reader with SIM_SCAN, cardinal or XSim... ... And only extract Ki in COMP128 v1 (like with other programas) but It keeps this Ki in .DAT file, and the format of this file is un-documented. If you use the program you don´t know the Ki extracted.... evesabri: Can you send more info about this theme? Thanks in advanced. Sir Graham. |
