Problems reading cards - GSM-Forum

Hello everyone.

I need to clone some SIM cards so I decided to get some software and hardware.
After several days looking all over the internet I got an "Infinity USB Phoenix" device from WB Electronics , and a "Phoenix / Smartmouse interface" from Maxking.co.uk.
I also got some Greencard2 (PIC16F877+24C256) and Prussiancard2 (AT90S8515+24C256) cards.
Finally, I found this site and downloaded Sim-Emu 6.01 and CARDinal 0.99.

Now for the problems...
Everytime I run Sim-Emu all I get is the "No card inserted" message no matter how I try to configure the damn devices.
With CARDinal, all I get is the "ERROR :: 0x8000A001 : Can't reset card - check card or device (E_ResetCard>e_notreset).
But with the lil' software that comes with the Infinity device some cards are read and some aren't.

What on ***'s green earth is going on?

What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Use Greencard2 (PIC16F877+24C256) and they is EMPTY. You must first load PIC & eeprom file in card !!!

I'm not sure of what you mean, but shouldn't I be able to read the card (any card) before loading any stuff on it?

hiiii i have the same problem too. Is there something we missed out or is just we are unlucky. I prooved it to any com port and it still says NO CARD INSERTED. Help will be appriciated very much.

You must first read IMSI and Ki from Your SIM card. Try with SimScan 2.01 by Dejan Kaljevic ( http://users.net.yu/~dejan ). Then You must upload PIC and EEprom into blank ( example: Green or Silver Card ). And Then run Sim-Emu 6.01 Configurator ( if You have Phoenix/SmartMouse, select SmartMouse with 3,57MHz or Phoenix with 6.0MHZ ). Device must recognized Your card. I prefer Win98 OS.

vrba: How can I read the IMSI and Ki from my SIM Card if everytime I put one inside my Phoenix device I get the "NO CARD INSERTED" message?

Can you please tell me where you bought the greencard2 or even perhaps send me one by post, I am stuck in South Africa and can't buy any of them here,but would like to experiment with simemu (have all hardware and soft)
