Member: 252478 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hi everyone, new to the forum so please be gentle! I am trying to recover deleted SMS messages from a SIM card (as quite a few on this thread are) but no luck. My first attempt was buying PhoneFile Pro special edition which said it could do this, however when I tried it the software reads there are 10 SMS messages on the SIM but does not display any information like the data, the destination or any of the info in the SMS. I have downloaded UndeleteSMS (v1.0) and run it from the command and if finds 1 SMS messages, but then asks for a PIN code. I tried the 4 digit phone unlock code but it get an error message saying "Error: PIN code submission failed, unknown reason [98,8]". I am 100% I have the phone unlock code, and I have even tried it with no phone lock code on the sim, so when it is in the phone it turns on and is usable without any code. Anyone have advice on freeware ( spent £60 on PhoneFile Pro so dont want to spend any more) tool to use to recover the messages, or a fix for the problem with UndeleteSMS? Any help greatly appreciated. Simon |

Member: 51941 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Yeah, Achin_Ji is right. It is possible. Deleted SMS on SIM Card is not deleted (data is not rewritten by FF). Only status byte is changed to 00 and GSM phone see the record in EF SMS like empty. If you rewrite the record with the same data which is stored only the first byte change on 01 then GSM Phone will see SMS which was deleted by it. I have my own software RestoreSMS which can read and restore deleted SMS on SIM Card. The only thing is: if SMS was deleted and GSM phone stored some SMS after that the current SMS can overwrite "deleted" SMS because GSM phone see the record like empty and you will never restore SMS which was overwritten. Again, thanx to Achin Jain for his research in SIM Card's SMS Management. See GSM11.11 about EF SMS (Status Byte coding). |

1) Read record from SMS EF 2) If the first byte is 00, SMS was deleted or never stored 3) Rewrite the record with data was read but the first byte must be 01 What else is not clear? | |

Member: 66920 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | SIMCon 1.2 Well, well, well ... Maybe a good book on self-management would be a better thing to look for ... For those still in need and interested, I uploaded a cracked version of SIMCon 1.2 to the following mirror sites: SIMCon 1.2 (mirror sites) http://slil.ru/22958883 http://WebFile.ru/1037356 http://www.YourFileHost.com/media.ph...e=smcn_1_2.rar download password = 50518 decompression password = (none) "Mirror sites" means that the different servers host exactly the same contents. The "cracked" installer package means that you do not have to run around for a serial number -- install, that's all. Yours faithfully ... Qui Peccavit |
