SIM Editor v5.11 not working Got a little blue/green USB SIM Editor from 7dayshop.com. Installed the software from the CD Rom and inserted my SIM. When I select Connect I get the message 'The system cannot be connected to the card reader! Ensure the card reader is connected to RS-232 and SIM card is plugged into card reader correctly'. Not sure why there's a ref to RS-232 when it's a USB device, but some of the messages and help are in very strange English! The SIM is inserted the correct way - the only way the pins inside could be in full contact with the SIM. Any ideas what the problem could be? |
Hi mitchrich, I have exactly the same problem as you do! Did you ever find the answer? I have reposted the query in case anyone can resolve it. As you say - why mention rs 232 with this usb device. Best wishes, Roger ... |
I too had the same problem. You need to search thru the little installation disc and install the USB drivers from the disc. Until this is done, it wont read. Good luck |
Same problem for me. A former version of the same program and an old usb device worked well on WIN98. So I tried to install the old device and the old software on WINXP but got the same error message: "The system could not be connected to card reader! Please ensure card reader is connected to RS-232 and SIM card is pluged into card reader correctly" In the cd I found "USB-Driver Installer.exe". I thought it connected usb to RS-232 but nothing than the same error message. I'll try it on my old WIN98. If you want you can write to protopapaatemaildotit |
Dear, How R U Today? Hi, thanks for your replies to my threat. Unfortunately I still have not got this sim reader to work, nomatter which driver I install. Any other software / drivers out there that might work with XP? Thanks. |
