Do you have satellite equipment shops in your city? They usualy have all the hardware required for this hobby.

Ask for a phoenix compatible smart card reader + Pic-card based Programmer (Silvercard/Greencard capable).

All software + firmware can be downloaded for free over the internet.

A silver card is sufficient if you need maximum 10 numbers and have most of your phone numbers stored in your mobile (this methode keeps a fast switching between the numbers, too)

If you can find the Greencard at the same price like the silver (+ 2 euro max) then you should buy the greencard. (Remember that you can program a greencard even with the silvercard-firmware as they are compatible as long as the software on them is smaller then their EPROM capacity)

There is no better or worse card,... just cards that fit more numbers in the phonebook and more sms messages but becomes slower during booting of the phone as more information has to be sent to the phone.

(this is my opinion as others might have other reasons to prefer a specific type of card)
