HP Veer Unlocking Requirements

System requirements: Windows XP, Windows Vista (32 bit)
(Vista 64bit & Windows 7 untested at present no support, MAC os not supported)
HP Veer Unlocking is identical to unlocking the Palm Pre (the following instructions are basically the same as for the Pre)
Important:-
HP Veer Unlocking Requires Activation On your Dongle
Before you start to unlock your HP Veer please ensure:-
• Phone must be activated
• Phone must be working
• Phone must be GSM (this is not for CDMA phones)

• If possible on a computer your Pre has never seen

In order to unlock your palm pre, pixi etc, it must first be activated.
The best way to do this is the way Palm/HP intended with a working SIM card with an active data plan.
You can activate your phone with the tool given on this page, please read through the entire page carefully
http://*******/rpgEc

Once you have unlocked and have a sim with active data, use WebOS doctor immediately after to get a fresh install.
Download “WebOS” software here:
http://ws.palm.com/webosdoctor/sorry.htm

Quick guide to using the Bypass Activation Tool
You must have the java run time library installed to use the following (normally present on most PCs, if not download from Download Free Java Software )
1. Download the activation bypass tool from http://*******/Uqw2o and save it to your PC (do not unzip this file or open it if prompted)
2. Get your phone to run in ‘USB Mode’ (recovery mode)
a. Method 1:
i. Take out the battery
ii. Press and hold the phones `Volume Up` button
iii. Plug in the USB Cable (connected to your PC)
iv. Replace the phones battery, release the `Volume Up` button
v. If successful you will see the USB icon on the phones screen
b. If that fails then use the following method
i. Keep the phone with battery cover on and battery in
ii. Press and hold the phones `Volume Up` button
iii. Plug in the USB cable (connected to your PC)
iv. Release the `Volume Up` button.
v. If successful you will see the USB icon on the phones screen
c. The final method you can try
i. With the phone turned on
ii. Enter either *228 Option 1 or *22899
iii. You may need to reset the device
3. From the command line (in the location where you saved the bypass tool) enter java -jar devicetool.jar
a. Open the folder you saved the bypass tool to
i. Vista, hold the shift key and right click anywhere in the folder and select ‘Open Command Prompt Here’
ii. XP, go to START > RUN type CMD press Enter Key, then TYPE ‘CD ‘ followed by the address of the folder you saved the bypass tool in for example ‘CD C:\bypass\’
b. Enter “java –jar devicetool.jar” press Enter key.
The Bypass tool will now detect your phone and run the bypass procedure.
