This information has been taken from the official web-site of the Sigmakey project:

Backup copies are tied to your card's serial number and can't be used by another SigmaKey/SigmaBox.

If you have bricked phone, there are 2 easy ways how to resurrect it:
1. Read backup from alive phone and flash it to this one using "Write flash" option
2. Flash it with the original flasher (RSDlite) using *.mzf flash file. Or using another product of GSMserver - Scout.

As it is signed at the official SigmaKey web site.

Backup copies are tied to your card's serial number and can't be used by another SigmaKey/SigmaBox.

In other words, backup copy can be used by the SigmaKey it was read, only.

In case you need to flash phone read phone backup from the working one and use it as a flash file.
