How to unlock Huawei U8686 with Sigma


1. Unlock phone's bootloader

You can unlock bootloader password either with Sigma or using official Huawei support:

Follow these steps:

USING OFFICIAL HUAWEI SUPPORT:

a) get bootloader unlock code
to get this code, send the following information to e-mail [email protected]

• Model: U8686 Prism II
• IMEI 8617******** (your phone's IMEI)
• Serial Number: P7U2B***** (your phone's SN)
• MAC: 5607******* (your phone's MAC)

you can find this information on the sticker under the battery


b) fastboot driver for U8686

c) unlock phone's bootloader
how to do this is fully described here

2. Direct unlock the phone with Sigma

a) connect the phone in Fastboot mode

• Switch the device OFF
• Remove the battery and hold it removed for 10 seconds, then place it back
• Press and hold down Vol - and Power buttons simultaneously till your phone completely freezes

Alternative and a bit easier way to enter the bootloader unlock code that you received from Huawei:
1) download the attached archive
2) modify boot_unlock.bat

adb-fastboot.exe oem unlock 1234567890123456

where 1234567890123456 - your unlock code received from Huawei
3) Run boot_unlock.bat

Having performed these steps you should get your phone's bootloader unlocked.

Current message informs that the Smart Card resource is not running at current PC.
In order to solve current issue try to perform one of the following operations:

• Run Sigma Software "As Administrator"
• Launch Smart CArd resources manually
• Run Sigma Software from another PC or reinstall Windows OS.

New easy way to unlock U8686 (no need to unlock bootloader)




Direct unlock via ADB mode (phone in turned on state)

It's mandatory to root device before unlock!

1. Turn the rooted phone ON and wait until it fully starts up
2. Enable USB debugging on your device:
3. • Android 2.3: Settings > Applications > Development menu;
   • Android 4.0: Settings > Developer options
   • Android 4.2.2: Settings > About phone > Build number > Developer options
4. Connect the phone to PC using USB cable
5. Install ADB drivers (only if the phone is connected for the first time)
   • ADB drivers for U8686
6. Select "Qualcomm" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software
7. "Phone model" dropdown box has to be set to "Autodetect"
8. Go to "Unlock" tab
9. Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab
10. Press "Unlock" button
11. The message "Unlock done… OK" indicates that procedure was completed successfully
12. Disconnect the handset
13. Phone is unlocked
