Can it be used on place on normal USB cable ?

This Cable Is Mostly Using For SPD Phones.And Yes Its Use In Usb Port Of Phone.

I am thinking of shorting gnd with the empty point on the phone's PCB. I mean directly behind the charging port. Guy is this a good idea?
