Blackberry 9700 & 9780 dead supply fault

Dear members i got 9700 and 9780 in dead problem

what i observe

when we put battery it gives just red light for some time and after that nothing happens

when i insert data cable without battery nothing happens

pcb condition is ok inside mean not attamted for repair

and what i find the diffrence between on and dead set is following

battery connector has 4 pins

1 gnd

2 next to ground here we get 2.2 volt in ok set / and is coming same in my handset

3 2nd from ground here we get 2.8 in working handset/ but i am getting nothing i think it is cause of problem



i did change power ic but nothing happen

ant body please help me

1- Connect charger without battery and see if you get red light??
2- Connect to PC and see if your computer detects it. (w/o battery)
3- Check short between vbat and gnd.
4- Check bat_id line to R1305 if missing put jumper or sherted to ground.

I hope this will help and post results here.

thank you very mutch mr cal_guy for helping me

i did all but nothing happen sir

1. without battery there is no red light
2. did not connect with pc
3. no shorting
4. 305 near to cpu is ok

my main problem is that i am not getting supply in point just next to + point on inserting

while we get current of 2.8 v in ok set

Try to reheat or change the booting IC, its behind the camera lens....

thank you all dear friends but what i noticed
in working handset wothut u901 ic voltage comes 2.8 on the point
next to positive terminal
so its not the fault from u901
still i change the u901 the condition is same

please help me

Blackberry doesn't turn on without U901/zokus. Shows only red light so not possible.

I get your point 2.8v absent on bat_id (next to positive) its cup not
getting V2.85DIG if its not present than reball or change power IC.
another thing that measure ohms reading with ok set.

you are right cal_guy sir that phon cant get on without u901
but i sai without this ic we get voltage 2.8 on that point

but in my faulty handset even i am not getting that voltage so its not fault of u901

still i vhange the power ic as well as u901 ic but condition is same

one more thing without u901 phone does connect with pc for software
in my case its not connecting

Connect usb charger and measure 2.85v and 1.8v near power ic if missing change power ic.

cal_guy sir i checked as per your instruction and find lots mistake in my case

i put usb charger and got the following values most of are wrong value

i marked with arrow and mentioned the current value

please look it and suggest me solution

Try to give power from battery terminal and check.

As above mentioned clearly PMIC not working no voltages out from it, first reball it, second replace it with new one
