BlackBerry 9800 LCD NO LED - GSM-Forum

Hi, i purchase domaged BB 9800 and i try to repair it.
This BlackBerry was sell with no working LCD. When i checked the motherboards under the magnifying glass i find broken sim slot. I purchase 2 new in eBay and i replace this SIM reader. Working very good, full 3G.

But i find another issue on motherboard. I see removed resistor R828 near LCD connector. I try to create jumper but not working. I see only Black screen. Under light i see everything what is going on this display. display is not spilled.Working but no LED light

See picture under, i create jumper on R828. When i remove jumper, i dont see anything...under light. With jumper work, but no LED.

II purchase new LCD from eBay but not yet received. When i received new i reply to this topic and write result. But maybe problem is else where? Please master, help me

I'm amateur but i love electronic and i still learning

Regards...

1.check all highlighted line which needed for lcd.
2.change flex.
3.If IR sensor malfunctioning than also no lcd.

Thanx for reply...i check some PIN and i have this results:
On PIN 7 i have 26.5v but i see in schematics 50v. This is correct?

RED dot is GND on this PIN when i do not connect USB Power and Battery.

I must wait on new LCD and check again...maybe new working good

Hi again, when i connect only motherboard to usb i have 49v for some time. When i waiting some second 49v change to 26.5v. This is time when on lcd is crossed battery icon. Anybody can help me what components i must check?

Ok, i check all resistors on the LCD line and all is OK. All INDUCTOR is OK. I removed missed R828 and insert from BB 9320 (20R). But still LCD NO LED

Maybe LCD is broken...i waiting for new.

On C827 and L812 i have 26.5v when BB is Power ON.

It's ok 26v on pin 7.Pin 23,27 are also ok. your lcd is ok bcuz you "crossed battery icon" when you connect ubs. In your case 3 thing doubtful 1.main felx 2.touchsreen 3.software.

I purchase on eBay new Touch Screen and working 100%. I tested with TinyControler app on PC. Every touch and slide working beatyfull. Keyboard LED working excellent. When i slide down LCD,keyboard turn off, when i slide up light is ON. All keys under LCD working good with trackball.

I see only "crossed battery icon" over LIGHT...LCD display LED not working. Yes, you right, maybe this is main flex...i dont know yet. I waiting for new LCD display. I dont have any other working BB 9800 to check LCD components and other parts

I post result with new lcd if i receive it

Today i got new LCD from eBay. BlackBerry working excellent. When i remove resistor R828, LCD backlight not working on new lcd and old.

When i insert good R828 new LCD working, but old lcd not working. Conclusion? Old lcd is broken...

Is anywhere schematics for BlackBerry LCD???
