| LCD connection problems on bb 9330 I'm new to the boards, apologies in advance if I am not posting this in the proper area. My blackberry curve 9330 recently took a big gulp of water, warranty was voided and I'm not up for a renewal for some time. I decided to take it on myself, did some cleaning on the pcb with distilled water and 99% rubbing alcohol. I have gotten everything working again, as far as I can tell, with the exception of the screen. It comes on as it should, but is just white. I have since activated the phone and used the voice commands to successfully make a call. I tried to dig up as much info as I could, but didn't find much and bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered a new screen. It is still white. Took it to a shop here and they said that there was a short in the connection and that they could fix it for around $90, but wouldn't elaborate on the short. I have not been able to find the lcd pinouts for this model anywhere..or any other helpful information. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

| I am not sure what exactly you mean. I know that I got the same model screen, so I can rule that out. Some additional info that I didn't include before - I was able to get some close up looks at the connector on the PCB using the macro setting on a digital camera, a few of the connections between the pins and the connector are blackened and and appear to have significantly less amounts of solder on them. I have scrubbed them with both detergent and rubbing alcohol and still cannot get the oxidation off of on of the connections. I tried resoldering the connections, but obviously could not get that last point to take the solder with the blackened surface, and the screen is still white when I turn the phone on. Any ideas? Also, if anyone has any tips on resoldering methods for something with such a fine pitch, please share! |
