IMEI repair on Blackberry 9700, 8900, 8520 always fails

Im new to PB, I bought it for it BB tools, just had couple of days, and im just doing something wrong and im wondering if anyone can tell me what.

So, attempting to repair imei or pin I allways get a FAIL on every boot check.

Heres what im going.

Yes:
BB drivers are all ok
I have MFI
I have DM (disabled)
I have the ROM download from Blackberries website.

Firstly I do the steps create a new IMEI and save them for later

Connect phone with no battery to usb

Click connect, first I get the model, but not all fields then click connect again and I get the boot rom, and start the copy. I upload the MFI...

Then phone reboots

I go into change IMEI give the new number.

Two things happen, the first it gets stuck on the first rom check, then after a while the phone boots, into no application linked (factory os), then the list continues and everything is a fail show the IMEI its writting and stops

If i do the same for PIN same thing happens.

I think I have the sequence correct, but what I dont find documented is if I have to do something like insert a battery or take out a usb, ive been trying combinations, several hours later with no luck im posting here to see if anyone recognises the errors of my ways ...

This is happening on a 9700, 8900 and 8520 ....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im sure many of you have done it before so whats the trick im missing.

Im running W7 (stupid smart reader drivers) but I also have a a XP setup and same results.

Always post with screenshot, bro

For old device, can be used only with FOS ( using special file )

for the new device, can be used with the following conditions: FOS + RTAs is ok.

How's RTAs ok? could the "mfi bug / mfi bypass RTAs', auth servers via RTAs, patching

Br,

Sure screenshots not a problem.

I found the Special 8900, 3 versions.

New security as its 03 / 04 / 05 in IMEI

I so upload each one and take turns testing

When do you activate the RTAS server?

Currently I have tried

- on from the beginning, whilst FOS flash
- on only before I choose the IMEI change option
- yes, firewall open (havent tested firewall off)

another thing

so I connect phone no battery, usb connects audio happens and I can flash rew rom , erase all ok and phone allways stays on black screen.

When trying IMEI/PIN repair, the phone after a minute goes to the white (factory os) screen, Im I correct to think that all operations performed should allways be before the phone boots into white screen (factory os) or should I wait for the factory os screen to boot?

once i figure this out I will do a really good video for the community to answer these questions.

Thank you BR

So I've somehow managed to brick the phone I've been testing with.

8900 Orange Uk

Ive taken the rom from BB's website

8900M_PBr5.0.0_rel1168_PL5.2.0.67_A5.0.0.681_Orang e_UK

But im stuck in waiting for JVM using DM or PB. Same with downgrade.

Full wipe, etc, not helping... What a day, one step forward a few more back ...

Whats the best way to bring it back to life ...

What I can tell you is the pin listed in the info is not the original.

I have a headache now...
