Red face Unlocking Siemens MC60???

I've bought the standard serial cable to unlock my new Siemens, and I downloaded the MC60 unlocker by SebaGSM based on the M55 one, but it won't work. All it says it 'Waiting Power On...'. I've checked the ports etc, and the phone works with another piece of software, but no feature of the unlocker seems to work. Any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong, or is there any other software which might work? The phone is currently locked to T-Mobile UK.

Any help would be hugely appreciated
Thanks
Rob Lewis

You said, that you have bought the standard cable... Do you mean the original Siemens cable?? If yes, than buy a noname cable with an integrated power supply so that it's "flash-able".

My cable isn't original - I bought it cheapo from some place. I've tried it with 98, and that didn't work either. I've tried switching the phone on whilst its searching - nothing seems to work!

Are we supposed to take the simcard out or something? (I've tried that!) - how can it be done?? Who has got past this problem?

Thanks

Just a question - is everyone here using the serial cable?
Maybe USB has to be used...?

It seems to me that all of you try to unlock a Siemens with datacable. U need "Unlock cable". Logically. Cannot tell you how to check if u have the right cable. But best way, is trying to use the phone as a modem. I u succed, you most likely have a datacable.

I think it can be unlocked with a data cable provided the necessary software is used. However, I am beginning to think that you need a USB cable and not serial. I am going to take mine to the local market to be unlocked

A USB cable for unlocking??? No, it doesn't work, forget it!!!
I tried that already. Buy a serial cable and it will work (if you have a non-original cable)

So the data cables that come with phones such as sl55 have missing pins on the plugs do they?

@ Resider - It doesn't though! I have a non original serial cable and it doesn't work! It just tells me to turn the phone on (which I have obviously tried!)

Anyone else have any help??
