A stupid question about remote flashing, CDMAWS and 3G - GSM-Forum

If you use a flashing software and it says the data is "3G"when flashed, how does it get the info for keys. Some people say you need to have a donor phone with CDMAWS to get 3G. I don't think the flashing companies have donor phones, I could be wrong though. Can someone explain it to me????

Some phones don't have a 1x icon, so it shows 3g, but it really isnt. Some software can calculate the 3g keys.
