G930U/G935U Bootloader Update...Sprint Users Rejoice!!!

Looks like Samsung my push an update soon to level the bootloader playing field. This would be huge for those phones. You'll be stuck on Oreo though, but would get those on b5, b6, or b7 a chance for the U version. This would put the U variant on b8. Sprint and T-Mobile are testing it now, looks like it may drop next month. The U version is also testing a b8 version, which is really good news for Sprint users!!!

what does that have to do with bootloader unlock? lol

you do know that later "U" devices are the carrier locked versions right?

The U1 devices are the "SIM" unlocked variants, still bootloader locked..

even then, flashing even a U1 firmware doesnt magically sim unlock the device, it changes nothing really

Sprint s7/s7e was ahead in bootloader revision. So after unlock, couldnt debrand it by flash U variant due to antirollback prevention. Finally U version is being updated to same rev as sprint. Make sense now?

As long as the U version is ahead of the Sprint than yeah, You know how sprint is they might even go ahead of the U variant and go Bit9

The "U" version bootloader sometimes lags by a couple of weeks to a months behind the carrier branded versions, but usually catches up.
