Help Please: No Carrier Signal I747M Running Android 4.4.2 - GSM-Forum

May I request for help from the experts in the forum. I'm a newbie with Android, and got a I747M as a hand me down phone from a recently arrived relative.

Since the phone is carrier locked, I had someone root and unlock it. It took a couple of tries to make "emergency call" work, and to get a signal from the local carrier.

The phone now has intermittent signal, and cannot send receive calls/messages even if the signal bars show as full.
