hey my friend. need your help. I'm using Galaxy s2. last night i lost my network and when i checked, saw that my imei was missing. i have a few EFS backups from siyah kernel and Foxhound. i tried to restore them using a tool called efs pro. it says successfully flashed my backup but i see that half of the files in the backup folder are missing in the restored efs folder. my imei number has also changed to a new one and still no network.

is it possible to restore the efs backup( .tar.gz, made by siyah). tried to odin it but odin doesn't recognize the backup.

i am unable to mount adb as it says ",,not an internal command,,," every time

IF it was from OTHER phone, then you'll get OTHER IMEI but after resetting the phone your IMEI will be 000000000000000, that's why their is NO NETWORK.

after REPLACING/RESTORE NVDATA.BIN , delete nv_data.bin.md5 [ see this #17 to #19 ]

note:

if NVDATA from other phone, you'll get MEI 004999010640000

but if NVDATA from phone original BACKUP, you'll get the ORIGINAL IMEI

Hi, I tried to click the MOUNT R/W button but it is still in r/o mode. In other folders I can freely set it to r/w.

Nice post brother. but can you tell me its working on samsung i9100 also .there is no imei even 0000 or any fake imei its null(blank.) i but all box to repair that but all is same .....i have z3x ,,spt,,,octopus..etc..
can you help me that how can i repair imei.i9100 no nv data file inside or no .nv_bak.bin ....

I've tried everything so far and could not get anywhere.
However at one stage I thought I'd try something unusual and it did work

Samsung Galaxy i9000 Model Number GT-I9000
Firmware Version: 2.3.6
Basisband Version: I9000XXJVT

My old IMEI 00000000000000 changed to 004999010640000 with this "trick"

- root the phone
- install rootexplorer.apk
- mount / directory R/W (root directory)
- go to /efs directory and long tap on it
- tap delete

Pull battery and re-insert to make sure that directory is created newly and NOT copied from cache.

- reboot in recovery mode (press VOL-UP - OK - ON at the same time)
- wipe cache data
- reboot phone

After reboot your IMEI should be 004999010640000

I have the IMEI corrupted ( 004999010640000). As a result I can't register t network in India. I don't have the original EFS backed as well. Is there any way to restore the IMEI to original one or flash a IMEI of a defective phone (which I own and is dead now)?
