ODIN Installation (detailed)

- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)

G9006v is the China Unicom version of the Galaxy S5

ROMs are .zip and installed via Recovery. You can use ODIN to put recovery on your phone. Clockwork Recovery Mod (CWM), TWRP are both recoveries.
Once recovery is on your phone you can enter it using the volume+ / power / home keys.

1. Download Clockwork Recovery Mod (CWM)
2. Download ODIN 3.09
3. Download 'Samsung_S5_G9006V.zip' from your second link
4. Copy 'Samsung_S5_G9006V.zip' to a MicroSD card and place into phone.
5. Reboot phone into Download Mode
6. Start ODIN
7. Click on 'AP' (was 'PDA') and find CWM recovery file
8. click Start
9. Once finished, the 'Pass' message will be displayed.
10. Reboot into recovery mode
11. Choose Wipe Data/factory rest
12. Select install zip from SD card
13. Flash phone
14. Reboot

Roms:
ROM?? - Samsung??Galaxy S5??|??|??|????|??|??-????

During the install process when choosing the Customer Service Customization make sure to set it to CHN.
Thus when you turn on the phone the first time it should ask you to connect to your data network right away.
I am searching around for custom ROMs for this specific model and I'm sure that those other folks using this phone would love something custom as well along the same lines as Alliance and XtreStoLite ROMs that are available for the genuine S5. It appears that they have sold many of these particular S5 clones so I am curious as to whether anyone is working on a custom ROM for this phone. It really is an amazing and fast phone and about as close as you can get to the real thing for a clone. (especially after rooting).

Hi, I have the same problem, I've tried many programs to root the phone and none have helped me so far. In my terminal does not connect with the gps not connecting with my company and works in roaming.

If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

Hello, I tried to follow the steps to root the mobile but the pc does not recognize the phone. After pressing PDA and connect it to the pc does nothing. I wonder if drivers are needed and how to get them.
Thank you
