What if the phone is set to factory defaults and stuck in setup mode to enter google acc info for activation ?

Same here. All im getting is a command back with a weird character at the end. Could it be the laptop im on or the usb cable im using??

Its a S6 edge from sprint. All im getting back is the green code with "clfr" at the end. Been the same way for every attempt for 2 months. Could it be the laptop or charger im using from my j3 for the usb to pc with my s6?

realterm never work for phones with new security patch and for older phones like j7 with 6.0.1 you need to try link above @Shikhar12. if fails then you need to patch phone firmware so that you can write older os for that same phone ie downgradde from mm to lollipop and reset frp then rewrite latest os of that phone after procedure
