| Right I have finaly repaired my phone after messing about, not sure how I did it seems the phone would never go into flash mode after updating my arc with ota software update and heres what I did. When my phoe was updated by ota update it would not switch on at all it was bricked, so I plugged the phone into octopus software and clicked repair ta ( Trim Area), now the phone turned on but the software was corrupt, the phone would not do a full reset, it thought there was no internal memory so would not download anything on market place etc, it was basicaly corrupt and when I tried to repair it it would not go into flash mode anymore by holding the back button, and believe me I tried but the reading the full flash using octopus software and test point still worked. So after so much reading and failed attempts to put the phone in flash mode I downloaded wotan server and installed the software and I tried to put the phone into flash mode again holding the back button to no avail, but I left the wotan server software trying to connect to the phone and turned the phone on, now when I turned the phone on PC companion recognized the phone so I tried to update the phone software using pc companion but it said there was no update for my phone, so I took the battery off and tried to connect the phone into flash tool holding the back button and wala it worked, but I noticed something if you leave it to long it will not connect again into flash mode and you have to go threw the hole process again, make sure usb debugging is unticked and make sure unknown sources is not enabled, and if it wont go into flash mode again, turn phone on and connect to pc companion again and then try and update threw it, when it tells you it cant on a repair quickly take the battery out and have your software ready and use flashtool to flash full rom on again and this should fix your problem did mine and I have been searching allover, if it doesnt work remember having wotan server running in the background trying to connect to the phone while using pc companion may have helped but im not sure its worth a try but mine is fixed now again, and im glad thought my phone was knackered, anyway hope this helps anyone with same issue on xperia phones. |
