How to Root LG Viper 4G Android Phone – Tutorial

One of the best smartphones ever from LG Electronics which was earlier announced in CES 2012 which is LG Viper LTE smartphone. This smartphone has received numerous number of custom ROM firmwares and in the due course of this article we will be checking out on how you can easily root the device as very soon we will be coming out with the detailed guide on how you can make use of various custom ROM firmwares. Unfortunately as of now LG hasn’t rolled out the latest ICS Android 4.0 update and also we don’t have any time frame on by when there will be an all new ICS update. There are many custom ROM firmwares which ropes in the goodness of the ICS like the Cyanogen mod 9 firmware which we will be coming up very shortly.
Disclaimer: We should not be held liable for any damage caused in the process of rooting your LG Viper 4G LTE. It is very unlikely that your device will be damaged if you follow all the instructions to the point which are mentioned in procedure.
Rooting information: Please be informed that once you root your device, the warranty will get void. The only way with which you can get back the lost warranty is by re applying the original factory firmware in your device.
For your convenience, we have also mentioned the list of quick pre requisites which you need to go through so as to facilitate smoother upgrade process.

Quick Pre Requisites:
  • Though it’s not a compulsion but it’s important for you to back up all the data present in your device manually with the help of below mentioned steps.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts
Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log -
Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files
– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings
– Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
  • All the drivers of LG Viper 4G device should be installed in your computer as it will be required in the due course. Also, ensure that all the Admin rights are there for you as Full USB read / write access should be there.
  • Disable / uninstall all the security suites installed in your computer as these tools generally interrupt the process of firmware update.
  • Minimum of 60% battery should be there in your phone so as to make sure that it doesn’t turn Off in the middle of rooting update. Enable the USB Debugging in your device from the Development tools section in Settings so as to connect your device with the computer.
Let’s get started with the detailed guide on how to apply this rooting process in your device.

Procedure to Root LG Viper 4G:
  • Connect your phone to the computer and then open the Super One click package to click on the “Root” option. Once the device is rooted successfully, the device will be rebooting.

  • Once the device is rebooted, you can then use your phone normally. To check whether the phone was rooted successfully or not, you can easily check the same with the help of an app called Root Checker which you can download from the Google PLAY Store. Also, after this you need to download and update the app called Super user from the PLAY Store.
Tip: If the device refuses to get rooted or say gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again follow the above procedure to root your LG Viper LTE 4G device.
Do let us know in the comments section below just in case if you face any issue. Congratulations, you have now successfully rooted your device with the help of a simple tutorial mentioned above.
