Forgot admin password, how to fix?
 

It is a DIY PC with latest Windows 10. The computer says password is expired and need to set a new password. I did as it asked but forgot to write it down. Now I can only remember part of it. How to fix this?

Question: Is a local account or Microsoft account?

local admin account not MS account

Download trinity rescue is a free software, burn it and boot from cd, choose interactive winpass.

You need to make a bootable USB to reset the password.

Ah,it doesn't matter that many people forget their login password on computer,to recover password back is not hard to do.
What you can do is to press <ctrl>+<alt>+<dlt> twice.
Type administrator as user name and keep the password blank and enter.
Now you can enter into windows and change the password from control panel-> user account.
