How to Recover Corrupted files from deleted Profile - GSM-Forum

I changed my laptop hard disc, and when i put the old hard disc to recover the files on the desktop, i couldnt find the documents and setting folder (where desktop was).
So i put the old hard disc back to copy directly, but windows said there was no user profile, and created a new profile automatically.

So i lost everything on the old hard disc desktop.

So i removed it back and put on hard disc casing and used a file recovery software to get them back, but about 95% of the files are corrupted.

Pls is there any way of getting the files to be normal?
My most important file are notepad txt files.

what error you are getting ? and which recovery utility you are using ?

Im not getting any error, just that the recovered files are corrupt, getting stuff like:

what opearting system are you using?

what opearting system did you try to access the files with?

you may be able to do a manual restore using ultiamteboot cd (bart pe)

what recovery program did you use?

you may be able to reapair text files with wordpad or word

when you try to access on another operating system files can lock themself or
lock the account

you need try many recovery programs,free undelete, smart recovery,paragon recovery,active undelete

Sorry for Delay
Im using Window XP
I tried to access thru Windows XP
Recovery Programme i used = REST2514.exe
I tried to repair Text file with wordpad and word, Did not work
Tried 3 other recovery, either they ask for payment, or they did not get data.
The REST is best for me so far

More ideas pls

I think u can use some recovery software. Because i have used a recovery software to recover my files. It calls Nice to recover flie. When my file was lost, my friend introduced the recovery software to me. using this software, i got my file. So i suggest u use it. u can try here!!!

BUT everything i see on that page is for MAC

i must say that your system settings have changed since this case arises due to change in system settings windows by default creates a new profile....give it a try by using win xp live disk...try to recover your files working from that disk....

Have you tried Pandora Recovery? I did something similar an it worked on my computer. Here you ahve the web: Free Pandora File Recovery - Find and recover deleted files of any type. And it is free
