Restore Chrome v67.x.x good old non-material bookmarks

Those who wish to restore the good old non-material bookmarks, here's a solution.

Download Google_Chrome_v67.0.3396.99xxx_Old_Bookmarks.EXE from the links below:

64-bit version (try to install this 64-bit version first, but if it fails then try the 32-bit version below)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid...45805528067223

32-bit version (try to install the 64-bit version above first, but if it fails then try this 32-bit version)

After installing Chrome, do not run it yet, we need to disable the auto-update first.
Download AutoRuns from https://download.sysinternals.com/files/Autoruns.zip
Search for "Google" (press Ctrl-F and enter Google then click Find Next)
Un-check the box in front of each line found, press F3, and keep doing it till you reach the end of the list.

As the final and VERY IMPORTANT step, RESTART YOUR COMPUTER before running Chrome, otherwise the auto-update will kick in despite disabling it above, and will update your Chrome to the new ugly material-design bookmarks.

After restart, if your bookmarks still do not show the non-material style, then copy and paste the following line into Chrome's URL window:
chrome://flags/#enable-md-bookmarks
In the drop down box select "Disabled", exit all open windows, and restart Chrome.

If you've done everything correctly, now you should have your old non-material bookmarks back. Report back if having any issues.
Note that you will no longer receive Chrome updates till we figure out a permanent solution to bring back the old non-material bookmarks on the new versions. Till then enjoy your good old bookmarks!!

A second solution is an extension which bring back the more familiar folder look and feel. It even lets you edit your bookmarks in two side by side panels, for easy drag and drop without having to wad through countless sub-folders. Best of all, no matter how Google butchers their bookmark display, this should work regardless.
Give Bookmark Sidebar extension a try to see it fits your needs.
