my friend forgot his windows password.

please anyone with the solution on how to remove the password without lost any data should help.

If your system partition is not encrypted with BitLocker or EFS, you can reset or recover the lost password using Ophcrack, PCUnlocker, Ubuntu or other live CDs.

Just come across a trick that can enable the hidden administrator outside of Windows box. Hopefully this can help you get into admin account on your locked pc:

1. Boot from Windows install media. Press SHIFT + 10 when you reach the setup screen.
2. In the command prompt, type regedit, and then load the SAM registry hive.
3. Browse to the registry key: SAM\Domains\Account\Users\000001F4
4. Modify the F binary value by setting the byte at offset 0038 to 10.
5. Reboot and the hidden administrator will let you login.

That's it!
