HTC One X not power on or charge after new lcd

Hi all. I have just replaced the lcd on a HTC One X and now I cannot get it to power on or even charge. I have tried a different battery with no joy.
I have tested the new lcd with a board from another One X and it works so the problem is definitely with the board from that phone.

The guy i am doing it for says the charging port was a bit dodgy and that he had to wiggle the cable to get it to charge sometimes. Is the usb charging port linked to the power button, therefore if it is completely broken stopping the phone from powering on?

Thanks

take a loaded battery, put it in, connect the display and the flex cable of the vibration and power it up.
If its not vibrating you have a problem.
If its vibrating, take a bright light and check the backlight.
Try also to connect it to your PC, to see if itīs gettin recognized.
