[URGENT] HTC Touch not charging

I tried putting in my friend's Touch's (HTC P3452, same model) charged battery, and my phone runs fine without any problem whatsoever. But it doesn't charge, not with his battery in, not with my battery in. I've tried different chargers and it just won't work! What can be the problem?

Please help. Thanks.

I have a HTC Touch pro and when the battery gets to hot (using it as navigation behind the windscreen of my car) it won't charge.

No that's not the issue I'm sure. I've waited a week before posting.
Can it be a faulty fuse?

BTW: Censoring Blo.w? Seriously? ;P

Well I'm not that aware of the inside of the HTC touch.
But a common problem with cellphones and PDA's are loose contact in the connector.
Because of the mechanical stress sometimes cracks appear in the solderjoints, resulting in pour connection or sometimes no connection at all.

You could try to resolder the connector to the PCB (best to use solder with lead)

hmm did you try to replace the battery.

It's a lion battery, this means there is some electronics in it for protection, this could be broken.

As I mentioned, I've tried running the phone with another charged battery. Or charging mine with another HTC touch, and running it. It runs perfectly. The only problem with the phone is that it doesn't charge.

hmm.. I think the HTC Touch has a charger circuit build in, so I think you have to search there.
Unfortianlly I don't know much about the charger circuit of the HTC Touch, so I can't say where you have to look for.

Hmm. I have no idea either . Don't know what to do now.

I took it to HTC. They say they'd have to replace the whole motherboard to fix the problem, and it's WAY too expensive, even they don't recommend getting it done.

that's what the most companies do, replace the complet pcb.
What you could do is, take out the pcb, and lookup the function of every IC on google, maybe the charge circuit is build arround 1 IC, you could try to replace that one.
