Hello.

We didn't test connection with the Andorid 5.0.x firmwares. Have You performed the next steps: Go to "Settings -> Networks -> Tethering & Networks -> Turn on "USB tethering"?

Try do exactly the next with both micro USB and P999 cables:
1. Connect the phone directly to PC.
2. Select "Charge only" connection mode.
3. Go to "Settings -> Networks -> Tethering & Networks -> Turn on "USB tethering".
4. Try to perform desired operation.

If problem will be the same with both cables, then, on your own risk, You can try to downgrade firmware version of the phone to 4.4.4 with original flasher.
Currently no other solution.
