Do, as this is written in Software manual:

1. Power the phone OFF.
2. Remove SD and SIM cards from the phone.
3. Select "OMAP" connection mode in the Software.
3. Click "Reset Screen Lock" button.
4. Follow software instructions (prompts).

Note, You should use the special LG P990 cable with 56 kOhm resistor inside, not standart Micro USB cable.

USB LG P990 cable with 56 kOhm resistor inside - look Software manual ("Help" button in the Software).

Did You look at cable's pinout picture inside of Software manual? Or did You read, what I have written above?:
