The phone automatically restarts into normal mode, why do you require that restart in normal mode and it keeps failing..

Hello.

Repeat the operation. When switching to Normal Mode will be required - disconnect the phone from PC and wait until the phone will power on. Then connect the phone directly to PC, wait until drivers for all devices will be installed and press "Ok" button.

The phone automatically goes into normal mode after it gets out of download mode. This is my 3rd attempt.. I tried rebooting the pc and that didn't work. Do I need to connect using a UART cable or directly to PC for the final step?

You need to connect the phone directly to PC via P999 cable with 910kOm resistor.

The phone automatically reboots and I get the message to put the phone in normal mode... The phone is already in normal mode..... Do I need to turn tethering back on?

*** Just to update you...
I got this to work by doing the following:
1. You must have the original sim card that came with the phone in order to enable tethering.. If the sim card isn't in the phone then you cannot enable tethering and the phone will not be detected by the Octopus Software.. When the software asks you to disconnect the cable and put it in normal mode you must wait for a signal and then re-enable tethering and then click on OK... Otherwise the process will fail.
