Member: 2487860 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | LG V10 H901 Can Not Detect mode! ... [Solved] I connect the phone, click on get phone info and I get the message "can not detect mode" then I put it in download mode, same thing . I try to read NVM, same thing it's on usb debugging, I also did the port check test to enable, so I have both of those things done.. and still the same message I've done a few phones already , other models and never had this problem, only with this phone any ideas? thanks |

Member: 2487860 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | ok so it turns out i was doing this wrong... I now hold the button up and then plug it in and it goes into download mode! BUT now i have a NEW problem, so many problems with this phone!!! so the problem now is that it stays stuck in the firmware update screen at 0%. when I look at the device manager I have yellow triangles in 3 sections! modems, com port and I forgot the other. but it only does this in download mode, when I just plug the phone in regular mode there are no triangles ! I have tried downloading every driver I can find and nothing ! I am thinking if I can put it in download mode then maybe octopus box wont give me the can not detect mode warning anymore anybody know where to go from here ? thanks |

Please, make sure that You read Software manual, press Cable & Manual button, links for drivers are there, also make sure that You connect the phone via USB cable directly to USB port of your PC, don't use HUBS. |

I am trying to fix imei.. I don't use hubs. the manual does not say you need to go into download mode but im trying to to see if that will solve the issue so this whole problem im having is me trying to get into download mode so I can fix imei and make the "can not detect mode" warning go away when I just plug in the phone everything on the device manager looks good, but when I put phone in download mode, it goes to firmware update and stays there at 0% and I can't get out. I have to take out battery which I don't want to do, then phone boots up fine. but I can't read or make backup of the phone or do anything in regular mode because it always says it can not detect mode in download mode I've managed to take away 2 of the yellow warnings in my device manager but the one for MTP always stays yellow, but in regular mode, even when i put the phone in MTP from the usb settings, it works and drivers are found, but in download mode it seems like it forces MTP and the drivers then don't work for it??? this is very weird so any ideas on what step to take? i've installed every driver under the sun I can find and nothing works. | |

Back to main menu After open device manager, make screenshot and send us, then try to perform Repair IMEI operation and post here full software log. |

Member: 2487860 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | ok so here what happened yesterday BEFORE i went to fix imei I pressed read phone info and it gave me the mode not detected error same thing for read nvm so I did not try imei fix because I think, well if it cant read phone info or back up nvm then for sure i will not try imei, I don't want something to go wrong so i spent all this time trying download mode. well I went ahead and said let me just try it...so i did imei..and it WORKED!!! 100% good the funny thing is i STILL can not read phone info or make nvm backup or read security but the imei part worked with no problem. Im just curious why it can't read the phone info . thanks octopus box! |

Member: 92260 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 843 | In download mode it's normal for the device manager to have errors for MTP/etc. as long as you see the diag and modem ports working correctly. Every component is enumerated in this mode but not all are functional, which is normal since only low level operations are done in those mode anyway. |

Member: 92260 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 843 | Also booting up the phone by inserting a usb cable with a 56K diag resistor creates different VIDxxx devices in the device manager than a normal cable with no resistors. So you may want to play around with that in case diag is not recognized. |
