huawei ec121 usb data modem - GSM-Forum

i have a huawei ec121 usb data modem of reliance...i want to shift it to tata indicom...theres no ruim slot....but on the pcb i can c that there r points on which one can solder the sim socket.....i've searched on the net and found out that it usually works on ruim...is there anyway i can flash this thing on and run it on ruim ?
any help will wud be greatful !

Yes. it can be used both on RUIM[Removable User Identification Module]card and as Non-RUIM Modem too, You can solder a suitable sixpined RUIM/SIM socket first and unlock it by CDMA Workshop to work it with other RUIM{Please remember that since it is a CDMA EVDO/1XCDMA Modem so, do not expect it to work with a GSMSim]. I got this Huawei Modem as Tata Photon Wiz[1XCDMAspeed] model which was nvlocked(NonRUIM]based and Tata Telecom Service waved parmanently Tata/bye-bye to North-East. So, I'm using a BSNLCDMARUIM on it 8-)
