Member: 2018340 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Huawei E5331 bricked?? I've just updated the firmware of my E5331 successfully, but now the modem is unusable. (NB: I didn't update it because it was locked (it was already unlocked by default) but because the brand was locking it to 14. 4 mbps instead of 21. 6mbps...) Now it turns on, the lights work, but I cannot enter the router page 192. 168. 1. 1 (not even connecting the modem with usb) and I cannot connect to the wifi network (that changed the SSID name too)... Now I don't understand the situation, have I bricked the device? Is it locked in some way? I must specify that at first it seemed to be working after the update, but I did a second update to a more up to date version which contained 2 files for the update, the main firmware and a smaller one called PRI_update. After doing these two I rebooted the device and found myself in the situation described above, with an unusable device. I also tried to restore the original version (which I had previously saved with Huawei Dashboard Tool but again it is always in the same situation. This is a scan of DC-unlocker. Original Version Scan (before update): Found modem : E5331 Model : Huawei E5331 IMEI : 8636*********** Serial NR. : A9R4************ Firmware : 21. 344. 11. 00. 192 Compile date / time : Mar 16 2012 20:56:40 Hardware ver. : CH1E5331M Dashboard version : UTPS1. 09. 02. 192 _MAC1. 09. 02. 192 SIM Lock status : unlocked Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10) Now: Found modem : E5331 Model : Huawei E5331 IMEI : 8636*********** Serial NR. : A9R4************ Firmware : 21. 344. 27. 00. 414 Compile date / time : Mar 4 2014 16:01:18 Hardware ver. : CH1E5331M Dashboard version : graham_ inggs _ custom_ iso SIM Lock status : unlocked Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10) The dashboard name is obviously strange because I attempted to restore the original version which was saved with Huawei Dashboard Tool and was named in that strange way... I also tried resetting the device, taking out the battery....vainly. I don't have any dongle, can I try something to restore my E5331 to a working status? On DC-unlocker I found my original firmware: Huawei_ E5331_ Firmware_ 21. 344. 11. 00. 192. B757_ Italy_ TIM. dgtk but I don't understand how to use it... Thank you very very much!!! |
